Make The Madiba Magic Last

Nelson Mandela
It’s not too late to get into the giving spirit for Nelson Mandela Day.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Nelson Mandela

Just because the 18th of July has passed, it doesn’t mean you’ve lost out on the chance to make a difference.

Nelson Mandela would have celebrated his 104th birthday on the 18th of July. As we all probably know by now, the Nelson Mandela foundation started with the idea of “67 minutes of good”, by which people commit to donate 67 minutes of their time to a worthy cause, in honour of the man himself. The idea behind this comes from the 67 years during which Mandela was a public servant, in the service of his fellow South Africans.

But this often sounds easier than it is. In a busy work schedule in a post-pandemic world, finding 67 minutes can feel impossible. That’s where we come in!

It’s no secret that Madiba was passionate about education. In fact, he saw education as the number one way through which poverty could be alleviated and crime eradicated.

In honour of this, we have found a number of donation worthy, local, trusted charities that focus on education, which you can support in lieu of your Mandela Day contribution towards goodness.

Whether you donate R67, R670, R6 700, R67 670, or even R6.7 million, you can feel confident that your donation will change lives and make a difference!

“Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”
